What is Anitome?

The title Anitome is a new word that was created to describe this large, heavy book which will hold the life story of the individual it is given to.

Anitome is derived from the words ‘animate’, ‘tome’, and ‘I’. Animate means ‘to give life to’ and reflects the ‘life’ story element of the book, so ‘ani’ was taken to be its representative. ‘Tome’ itself means large, heavy book which describes its physical qualities. ‘I’ represents the individual.

 

Everyone’s life contains moments filled with significant thoughts, events, emotions, growth, and wisdom. The purpose of this book is for each person to become the teller of their own life story by summarizing their experiences once a year.  The story written and the images created on these pages becomes an irreplaceable gift to whomever it is passed to.

 

Anitome's Unique Features...

The Cover has minimal design and color on the front to provide blank space for personalizing.  You can imprint the person’s name or a family crest here if desired.

 

The Story of My Family is the foundation.  It is the family roots of that individual.  It is meant to be filled out by a parent/guardian of the child the book is intended for.  Of course it can be recorded at any time, by any individual who has the knowledge and desire to do so.

 

My Parent’s Advice is the advice about life given to the child by the people raising them and any other significant adults in their life.  This section is meant to be filled out by the parents, guardians, extended family, etc. during the child’s very early years.  The advice written down for the child will always be there for them no matter the changes time brings.

 

My Childhood Years encompasses all the significant events, thoughts, and emotions leading up to the child’s birth, immediately after, and the first year up to the tenth.  This section is meant to be filled out by a parent/guardian of the child it is intended for.

 

My Adolescent Years is when the book is handed over to its owner.  The child begins to tell their story for themselves, every year, until the day they die.

 

My Young Adult Years, My Middle Years, My Golden Years, and What Time Has Taught Me are all meant to be recorded by the owner through all the phases of their life, until death.

 

My Passing is to be told by the owner of the book, if circumstances agree, and/or by the loved ones who have witnessed their life and passing.

 

*There are blank pages throughout the book that can be used for pictures, drawings, more writing, etc.  There are also designated areas for notes but the margins can be used for that purpose also.

 

*Each year Words of wisdom, wishes, and love from family and friends... is a space for loved ones to write in celebration of that individual.
